In connection with the emission of cooling lubricant mist into the environment or at workplaces you have to observe several instructions according to the present legal situation.
The following instructions related to the Federal law for emission protection (BlmSchG) are to be observed:
TA Luft - www.bmu.de/files/taluft.pdf MAK - Values (Link

Regulations of the Professional Association ZH 1/248
Legal limits for cooling lubricant (specific flash point > 100 °C) pollution:
-Max. 20 mg/m³ as sum of organic C-load if air is exhausted into
free atmosphere (TA-Luft)
-Max. 10 mg/m³ as sum of cooling lubricant vapour and aerosol at
the workplace (MAK, TRG 900)
-Max. 1/5 of the MAK-value if cleaned air is returned to the
workplace (< 2 mg/m³)
Standard pollution limits for non-soluble cooling lubricants with flash point < 100 °C (e.g. certain rolling, grinding or honing oil) are not yet established. One has to search in this case for MAK values of individual components like e.g. the MAK value of methanol 270 mg/m³.
