Vortex Hood:

A patent for this ROM vortex suction hood has been issued to IMTECH in Frankfurt. It can be used for the extraction of dust and vaporous emission blasts in any manufacturing areas where such emissions are generated. Handte cooperates in this field with IMTECH, Frankfurt and has manufactured some of these devices under license.

Examples of applications include die-casting machines, painting tables, etc. The special capturing geometry ensures an even suction efficiency over the complete width of the hood, resulting in the capture of all vapors and particles.The special flow configuration ensures that blasts of high-concentrated pollutant emissions can be collected completely. The operation thus produces something of a "tornado" effect.

Comparison with conventional suction hood designs shows that the required air capacity can be reduced by up to 25 %.
