Some interesting facts

A biological filter instigates the purification process of drawn-off air. It treats water-soluble microbiological degradable air particles. As opposed to other processes, the application of biological oxidation (i.e. the elimination of harmful substances) eliminates any disposal costs for the removal of deposited contaminants inside the filter.

The biological filtering process is based on the principles involving the flow of contaminated exhaust air through a matrix containing micro-organisms. Pollutants are thus absorbed and subsequently oxidized by microbial metabolic processes and/or converted into a biological mass. The escaping air is purified (clean air). The biofilter construction should be characterized by an evenly distributed gas flow, sufficiently high permeability of the support plate, suitable material selection and easy of maintenance.
