When, following the Second World War, ever-increasing concentration in milling capacity resulted in a rapid decline in the number of small milling enterprises, the sons of the company's founder, the graduate engineer Erwin Handte (1895 - 1964) and his brother Adolf Handte (1893 - 1969), decided to switch production to industrial dust extraction plants. The work that they had already undertaken with their father in previous years in this sector proved to be a solid foundation upon which to establish a manufacturing business for dust-extraction plants that met the technical requirements of modern industry.

In view of the competition already established in the field of dust extraction plant, Erwin and Adolph Handte were fully aware that they could only win the confidence of industry by providing levels of technical performance that far exceeded the norm. Handte's first standard machines were therefore unveiled with this in mind, machines that, as a result of their high dust separation performance levels, met with the full approval of industry, as demonstrated by the gratifyingly large number of orders that were soon placed.
