The company founder: Jakob Handte & Co. was established in1889 in Tuttlingen, Duttental / Molkestrasse by Jakob Handte (1863 - 1941)(photo right). The principles employed in the company's construction of ventilation systems were based on previous experience acquired in the manufacture of flour milling machines.
Jakob Handte, whose ancestors can be traced back to the year 1530 in Tuttlingen, learned flour mill construction and established a mill construction factory in 1889. An interest in and talent for engineering applications meant that he was also responsible for many successful improvements in millconstruction technology.
Numerous mills constructed by Jakob Handte in Baden and Württemberg bear testimony in their design and execution to the fact that a real master in his craft was at work here, brimming with innovative ideas. While designing and constructing milling equipment, Jakob Handte also encountered ventilation and dust emission problems which interested him greatly. He often worked late into the night on these matters, finding solutions that, in their basic principles, are still applicable today.	more >>
